Hello Mandarin Families,

Thanks to everyone’s generosity we were successful in reaching our goal to fund a Mandarin teacher at Lincoln for fall 2009.  The teaching position was posted today!  We know the sacrifices that each family made in these tough economic times.  None of this would have been possible without the wonderful support of Lincoln’s principal, Peyton Chapman.  Not only did she personally contribute money to support Mandarin but went down the immensely difficult path of adding this program to support the middle school curriculum. 

The teaching candidates have until June 3 to respond and apply for the position.  Interviewing will commence around June 4^th and hopefully confirmation of a Mandarin teacher will be announced prior to the end of school which is June 10^th.  With one in every five people in the world speaking Chinese what a fabulous addition to Lincoln High Schools International curriculum.

Thank you to all the individuals, families and corporations that helped make this dream a reality.  We are looking forward to an exciting year at Lincoln High School.
